Cloud and revenue-share brokerages
Few or no physical offices. Agents pay a published split or flat fee up to a cap, and some models pay agents a share of revenue from agents they recruit.

Residential firms are listed unscored. Our published rubric was written for commercial service firms and software, and we have not published how it applies to residential brokerages. Firms are listed alphabetically, not ranked. See methodology.
Fathom Realty
Public (Nasdaq: FTHM). Got a Nasdaq minimum bid-price notice on August 21, 2026. A merger agreement with Neighborhood Intelligence, Inc. (formerly Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc.) was terminated on October 5, 2026.
The only firm here that publishes flat per-transaction pricing in its 10-K.
Profile and filings →Real REMAX Group (Real and RE/MAX)
Public (ticker REAX in the SEC tickers file). Formed by combining The Real Brokerage Inc. and RE/MAX Holdings, completed August 24, 2026.
One holding company now sits on top of two opposite models: Real’s capped 85/15 split with revenue share, and RE/MAX’s franchise system, which earns fixed fees per agent.
Profile and filings →eXp Realty (AGNT, Inc.)
Public (ticker AGNT). Renamed from eXp World Holdings on June 10, 2026; now a Texas corporation.
The 10-K says plainly that its revenue-sharing plan “pays under a multi-tiered compensation structure similar in some respects to network marketing,” that the company has received regulator requests for information about it, and that it may have to modify the plan in some jurisdictions.

eXp does not state its split or cap in its 10-K, and its join page showed no fee terms when we checked, so it is left out of this table.
Who each is actually for
From what each filing says, not from reviews. Where we had no source, we leave the cell out.
| Firm | Fit signals from the filings |
|---|---|
| Fathom Realty | Agents who want flat, per-deal fees rather than a percentage split; the 10-K lists all three plans. |
| Real REMAX Group (Real and RE/MAX) | Agents who want a published, capped split (Real). The terms are in the Annual Information Form. Agents who prefer an office-based franchise with a global brand (RE/MAX): 148,660 agents in the network. |
| eXp Realty (AGNT, Inc.) | Agents who want income from recruiting through revenue share, and who accept the regulatory risk the company itself discloses. Agents who want equity: the filing lists stock ownership opportunities for agents. |
